Vijetha Hegde

Vijetha M Hegde, a talented tabla player from Honnavar, Karnataka, has trained extensively in the Gurukula tradition under the guidance of Vidwan Shri M.V. Sheshadri Iyengar and Pandit Yogesh Samsi. Academically, she holds an M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry with a second rank from Mangalore University. Hegde's accolades include an 'A High' grade from All India Radio, second prize in the 2010 National AIR Music Competition, the 'Pt. Nikhil Ghosh Memorial Promising Artist Award' in 2010, and the 'Dr. Aban Mistry Memorial Award' from Swara Sadhana Samiti, Mumbai in 2015. She was also recognized as the 'Female Tabla Artist of Karnataka' by the Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music Foundation in 2016.
